Why do we need a UK Marine Angler Database?

Put simply, when there’s a critical message to get out to UK marine anglers, it can only be communicated via social media channels in a scattergun way with a lot of hope and little chance of reaching anywhere close to a majority. 

If there’s a threat yo your local angling, with a key consultation you should respond to, we want to let you know. The biggest complaint about most new legislation impacting anglers is that they never heard about it, but when they are so hard to reach, that is no surprise. 

How will my data be used?

• Only ever for us to contact you directly, by email and where you provide it, SMS. 
• We won’t ever pass your details on to anyone else. 
• We won’t provide any data, i.e. number of anglers in a given area, to any third party without running a specific survey asking you to opt into it at the time. 
• This is only to get you key details about issues impacting angling. 
• We may include relevant offers from companies supporting our campaigns on behalf of anglers.

Only the knowledge that we can keep you updated and engaged, giving anglers a powerful voice. Our greatest strength is in our numbers, yet it is always so hard to mobilise everyone. By compiling this database, we achieve what would otherwise be enforced with a sea angling license, but completely voluntarily, without cost and exclusively used to update you, not to manage you.
